What We Do

Team building program for campersCamp Kawartha is situated on 186 acres of stunning waterfront property that features forests, fields, wetlands and extensive trails. The camp offers a unique blend of outdoor, environmental, team building and leadership opportunities for youth, families and user groups throughout the year.

An accredited, award-winning, year round operation, we focus our activities in four related areas:

Our Summer Camp is a place where children come to appreciate the possibilities and joy of caring for one another and for the natural world. We strive to provide every child with enriching and memorable experiences that endure into adulthood, building leadership skills and self esteem.

Situated on a magnificent 186-acre waterfront property that is well suited to an innovative variety of outdoor and environmental programs, we offer a variety of sessions for boys and girls aged 5 to 17.

Our Outdoor Education Centre offers over 50 high quality, experientially based programs to elementary and high school students.  Taught by professional educators, these programs are grounded in the Ontario Curriculum.  Programs fall under 5 broad areas: leadership, environmental science, history, recreation and the arts.

From September to June, our facilities are available for weekend Rentals. We provide an inspirational setting to businesses, organizations and families for team building, conferences, meetings, retreats, green weddings or any special event. We serve groups of 25-150 with exclusive use of our site and facilities, including overnight accommodation, at a surprisingly affordable price.

Highlights include fully equipped meeting facilities; adventure teamwork activities with high and low ropes and a climbing wall; and outstanding cuisine.

Our Environment Centre is a model of environmentally-sustainable architecture, construction and building operation. Located on Trent University’s 200 acre wildlife sanctuary lands, this unique 2,000 square foot building has earned its moniker as "Canada’s most sustainable building."

Designed and built by students in Fleming College’s Sustainable Building Design and Construction program and supported by the Gainey Foundation, Trent University and a variety of foundations, government and community organizations, the Centre delivers more than 40 environmental programs to elementary, high school and university students, as well as workshops, lectures and seminars on sustainability to the general public.
