Our annual Green-in-Motion event brings awareness to sustainable living practices, while raising money to help send children to camp. Expanding on the traditional walk/run event, we invite everyone to come out and enjoy the outdoors using any form of "human-powered transportation", e.g. walk, run, bike, rollerblade, unicycle, trike, wheelchair, etc. while raising money to help send a child to camp. There will also be environmental activities, entertainment, refreshments, and free tours of our Environment Centre. We go rain or shine.
How You Can Help
- Obtain a pledge form for each participant, and collect pledges from friends, family, neighbours, or co-workers.
- If you can't attend the event, we invite you to Donate Online through CanadaHelps and choose "Green-in-Motion Fundraiser" from the choice of fund designations. Donations can also be made by phone or mail using our printable donation form.
- Contact us for more information on hosting a "Green Day" at your school in support of our fundraiser
- Circulate our event flyer and tell all your friends & family about this fundraiser.
Support Environmental Programs for Kids
As a not-for-profit, charitable organization, our mission is to promote stewardship of our natural and human communities. We accomplish this through our unique outdoor education, summer camp and environmental programming. All proceeds from the Green-in-Motion Event will be directed towards our sponsorship fund. Each year, with your help, we send deserving children who otherwise could not afford camp fees, the opportunity to participate in the magic of a summer camp or outdoor education visit.
- Raise $150 and you've helped a student attend our Outdoor Education Centre for 2½ days.
- Raise $500 and you've helped a camper to attend our summer camp for a week.
Prizes!
- All participants who raise at least $10 or pay a $10 entry fee per person, will receive a ballot for draw prizes, and food tickets redeemable for refreshments
- Raise $30 or more, and you also receive a Green-In-Motion event T-shirt
- Raise $150 or more, and you also receive your choice of a Camp Kawartha stuffed animal or a ball cap as a thank you.
- Raise $500 or more, and you also receive your choice of a stainless steel water bottle or travel mug, plus a journal & pen set as a thank you.
- The 'Craft Cup' trophy will be awarded to the school that raises the most money
- The 'McAdam' trophy will be awarded to the community group or family that raises the most money
- Various draw prizes to be won (must be present to win). Top three fundrasers get first pick!
