Community Information

The Camp Kawartha Environment Centre is not only dedicated to the environmental education for students, but also the assistance to the community.

The Camp Kawartha Environment Centre is one of Peterborough’s best resources for information on sustainable living and green architecture. The community will benefit from the research done by Chris Magwood and his crew.

The Camp Kawartha Environment Centre will host workshops on issues such as sustainable building, renewable energy and teaching environmental education delivered by experts in environmental fields.  Speakers will also be able to answer questions for personal projects.

Whether someone is looking to become more energy efficient, or looking for advice to add some sustainable building aspects to their home, the Environment Centre can help on any level to decrease ecological footprints or save money on energy bills. Staff can also direct people to possible federal or provincial grants available to help with environmental projects.

People can sign up as a group, or individually for workshops.
