"Green in Motion" fundraiser

Thanks to the support of the community, we have raised just over $9,000 to support Camp Kawartha’s subsidy fund and allow children with limited financial means to attend summer camp and participate in outdoor education programs.

Special Thank yous

Adam & Sophie from Edmision Heights Public School raised $585, earning the Craft Cup trophy for their school.

Grace Turney, raised just over $500 all on her own. She created her own information flyer to email to family and friends, and encouraged them to make online donations through CanadaHelps.org. See her Thank you flyer here

Students from Westmount Public School raised $463, and they are still going, with an in-school "Green Day" fundraiser to happen in late June.

In total, 11 schools were represented at our Green-in-Motion event. Thanks to all the students who came out to participate!

We would also like to make special mention of Warren Craft who single-handedly raises around $6,000 every year. Warren starts collecting pledges in early February and continues until the end of June. Over the years he has raised over $80,000 for Camp Kawartha’s subsidy fund. The Craft Cup is given out each year in his honor to the school that raises the most money.

A huge thank you goes out to all our participants, volunteers, donors and sponsors!

This is a Family Event, All Ages Welcome!

We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the outdoors using any form of “human -powered transportation”, e.g walk, run, rollerblade, unicycle, or bike, while raising money to help send a child to camp.

Here's how you can participate:

Obtain a pledge form for each participant
Collect pledges from friends, family, neighbours, or co-workers
Tune up your bike, trike, unicycle, roller blades, walking or running shoes!
Remember to bring your helmet, water bottle, sunscreen and sunglasses.
Sign in with your pledge sheet and money raised at the Registration Desk on the day of the event
Follow the scenic Rotary Greenway Trail, or enjoy a leisurely 1 km or 5 km nature hike in the beautiful Trent wildlife sanctuary. Click here for map of Rotary Trail route
Have fun and help a child go to camp!
If you can't attend the event, please feel free to Donate Online through CanadaHelps and choose
"Green-in-Motion Fundraiser" from the choice of fund designations.

Prizes!

Participants will receive food tickets redeemable for refreshments.
Raise $25 or more and receive a Green In Motion event T-shirt.
Raise $100 or more and you will also receive a Camp Kawartha ball cap.
Raise $500 or more and you also receive a Camp Kawartha Hoodie.
The 'Craft Cup' trophy will be awarded to the school that raises the most money.
The 'McAdam' trophy will be awarded to the group with the most diverse forms of human transportation.

Help a child experience Camp:

As a not-for-profit, charitable organization, our mission is to promote stewardship of our natural and human communities. We accomplish this through our unique outdoor education, summer camp and environmental programming. All proceeds from the Green in Motion Event will be directed towards our sponsorship fund. Each year, with your help, we send deserving children who otherwise could not afford camp fees, the opportunity to participate in the magic of a summer camp or outdoor education visit.

Raise $150 and you’ve helped one student attend our Outdoor Education Centre for 2½ days.
Raise over $500 and you’ve helped one camper to attend our summer camp for one week.
