Summer Camp ASD Staff

GOAL: To successfully facilitate the integration of children living with HIGH FUNCTIONING Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) into the regular camp setting.

Each summer, Camp Kawartha requires mature, responsible and qualified part-time staff to work one-on-one with children with ASD. The priority of this one-on-one linkage is to facilitate the integration of these children and support their needs in the process of doing so. We require committed and responsible camp staff that is reliable and flexible. Staff is hired on a contract basis and are required to be available for a minimum of 3 weeks. Suitable candidates may have the opportunity to be scheduled for a significant portion of the summer. Schedules will be primarily for days, short evenings and night shifts (day shifts 8-6 evenings 6-10 and nights 10-8am). Rate of pay varies between day and night shifts.

We offer one-week (Sun afternoon to Friday evening) residential camp sessions. Two campers are accepted at a time for the overnight sessions (ages 8-14), and are closely screened for suitability. ASD campers have their own cabin for purposes of sleep (and as a place to chill when and if needed).
